From January 2005 Underwriting Risk Services is authorised and regulated by the Financial Services Authority [FSA].

The FSA’s ‘The Distance Marketing Directive’ and ‘Insurance Mediation Directive’ place a requirement on organisations to ensure that certain customers receive specified information before the conclusion of the sale or renewal of some insurance contracts.

Underwriting Risk Services Ltd has created a number of Policy Summary documents that we believe fulfil all of the requirements of the Directives on the provision of this information for the products we supply. We have also made available all of our Proposal Forms and Policy Wordings.

From 31st October 2004 all of the intermediaries that we trade with that are based in the European Economic Area will, before the policy is incepted, need to supply these documents to all customers that are natural persons acting outside their trade, profession or business where the sale is at a distance. To meet this distance requirement the insurance will have to be incepted without any face-to-face contact between you and the customer at the conclusion of the sale.

From 14th January 2005 all such intermediaries will need to supply this document to all customers that are natural persons acting outside their trade, profession or business regardless of whether the sale or renewal is being done at a distance.

This area within our site contains the most up-to-date versions of the Policy Summary documents and our Policy Wordings, please make use of them.
